Welcome to Kansas Creativity.
Through this project we hope to partner the convenience of self-paced learning with the power of collective, online brainstorming and discussion. But, we want to take this learning opportunity one step further by helping you transform your learning experiences into action at your library.
WIIFY: What's in it for you?
- Time out to let your creative juices flow.
- Something new and innovative for your library.
- Continuing Education credit: 3.5 hours for the desktop course PLUS 1.0 hour of credit for each webinar and 3.0 hours of credit for posting your plan to the documents area of the Kansas Creativity web space. That's right, you can earn a total of 10.5 hours of continuing education credit.
Here is the pathway to creativity and credit:

September 16, 2009, 1:00 PM CT
During this initial session, we discussed the content of the WJ course, "Generating Creative and Innovative Ideas". What did you learn? Which techniques might be useful? How is innovation different than creativity? We will also discuss the goals of the WJ Kansas Creativity Group (and how to use it).
September 23, 2009, 1:00 PM CT
Our second session was a tour of innovation in libraries. We looked at exciting library projects and programs from around the world and sought to understand how innovation was able to flourish there. Each participant will think about his or her own library environment and potential ways in which to infuse some creative spirit there.
September 29, 2009, 1:00 PM CT
Our third session focuses on the implementation of ideas. How do you move from creative spark to action? Everyone will be encouraged to attend the free InfoPeople webinar at 2 PM (CST), "Taking Your Ideas to the Next Level", facilitated by George Needham and Joan Frye Williams. We will discuss this webinar in the Kansas Creativity group on WebJunction.
October 6, 2009, 1:00 PM CT
No meeting this week, so that everyone had extra time to work on his or her individual plan for creative action. Discussions continued online in the Kansas Creativity group on WebJunction.
October 13, 2009, 1:00 PM CT
Our final meeting! During this session, we will look at where we've been and where we're going. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss their action plans. We will talk about how we plan to keep creativity alive as we move ahead.
4. Create a plan for innovative action at your library and post your plan, any accompanying materials including pictures, flyers, etc. to the documents area of the Kansas Creativity web space. If you need help adding your document(s) to WebJunction Kansas, please see:
