About Me: In mythology a figure that is half man, half horse, is known as a centaur. So what is a creature that is half book, half woman called? From the time I was a little girl it was hard to tell where I began and the book ended. I always had my nose in a book and piles and piles and piles of books surrounding me. I owe so much of my love of reading to my dad who used to take me away to exotic places in the form of storytelling and books. My earliest memories are of him reciting mother goose rhymes and reading fairy tales. He was the one to take me on my first library visit, getting me my first library card and sneaking me into the adult section of the library and all its wonders. A second nod of gratitude must go to my elderly aunt who had an attic filled with books. She would allow her nieces to pick one or two, often forbidden romances, just the ticket for a teenage girl. I'm married to a born junk picker, and we've had great fun over the years dumpster diving, retrieving and using other people’s junk. We like to travel and have a long list of places we want to visit. Past adventures have taken us to Costa Rica, Thailand, China and most recently, Russia. Of course, we've also visited some spectacular places in the US. One of my favorites is Yellowstone National Park. I do hope to visit that area again. Two grown daughters and two terrific grandchildren round out my life. When I’m not reading you’ll find me browsing flea markets for Vintage Christmas jewelry, a growing collection. Or perhaps I’ll find a collectible mouse figurine to add to the over 300 that I have accumulated over the years. Maybe, you'll meet me at a local book sale, or one of several favorite used book stores, stocking up on more books to add to my to be read shelves. The path of my life always circles back to books and reading
